The Red Onions knew they were onto something when singer Paul Gonzalez hurled himself into the drum kit at their first practice. Like a lot of great punk bands, the Red Onions have unlikely and humble origins; they met while working at a Gardena California K-Mart.
The songs on their debut Flapping Jet/Fat Possum EP are tightly packed, soul injected rock nuggets. With hip-pocket low end and murderous fuzz guitar, their songs produce a sturdy backbone for singer Paul Gonzales' cathartic and explosive performances. This EP will establish The Red Onions as the most vital band to emerge from Los Angeles' South Bay since Black Flag.
