Gil Mantera's Party Dream Biography
Ultimate Donny: Vocals, Guitar
Gil Mantera: Programming, Keys, Bass
Check out these two guys, Ultimate Donny and Gil Mantera. They’re from Youngstown, Ohio. They’re brothers. They’re blonde, handsome, and strapping. They play rock-style music mixed with alternative-style. If you have a dick they’ll make you jealous and if you have a pussy they’ll fuck you. They’re Gil Mantera’s Party Dream.
The duo started rocking shows back and forth between the Youngstown and Columbus, Ohio scenes back in 2000, sharing stages with a variety of bands of different genres and dominating all. On the strength of their incredible live show and two self-released CD’s, they grew to own a solid fan-base in every nook and cranny of the state of Ohio (which, believe it or not, is no easy goddamned task) and soon thereafter most of the Midwest.
By 2004, The Party Dream’s storm had expanded to envelop most of the Northeast and even parts of the South. All the while honing their craft, their stage-presence and songwriting abilities had grown to monstrous proportions, thus generating interest from tastemakers, labels, and a whole bunch of other pretentious wing-dangs. Despite the influx of attention, the boys held fast and maintained course until the right men for the job approached them. Which brings us to now…
Enter Bloodsongs, the band’s first officially released LP on the esteemed Audio Eagle Records. On this awesome venture the Party Dream takes their sound to a new zenith but maintains their signature fusion of rock, synth, electro, and fury. The band’s currently hunkering down and getting ready for a national tour that will, in the words of singer/guitarist Ultimate Donny, “Show motherfuckers how to drive a sword into the heart of the demon who guards the department of desire -- Party Dream-style.”
Look, man. These dudes are smart and these dudes are serious. They’re here for the long haul to let their nuts hang. Their songs, phenomenal live show, integrity, and the swagger and attitude of the members themselves make clear one thing: Gil Mantera’s Party Dream is to pop music what Freddy Kruger is to supernatural creatures that haunt their victims’ dreams - which is to say they set the goddamned standard.
