The Black Keys - Rubber Factory

Rubber Factory, the follow-up to one of 2003's most successful albums, thickfreakness features more of Patrick and Dan's mix of rough rock n' roll and blues straight out of Akron, Ohio. Rubber Factory is the second Black Key's album out on Fat Possum (though you can't tell from the packaging--thanks a lot, Epitaph), and continues the raw, ragged, and loud sound, and this time, with handclaps.

R.L. Burnside - A Bothered Mind

These are the latest songs with the madman R.L. Burnside’s maniacal vocals and intense guitar pickings remixed and reworked by some of the biggest names in hip-hop. With A Bothered Mind, Burnside has once again staked his claim as the most cutting edge and relentlessly raucous bluesmen in around. A Bothered Mind features collaborations with blockbuster acts like Kid Rock and underground Hip-Hop hero Lyrics Born.

Charles Caldwell - Remember Me

Charles Caldwell had never been paid cash for playing at parties. Instead, he got to drink all he could for free. Strange things had happened to him as a result. He'd woken up in cities he'd never been to before, not quite sure who had taken himi there. Once, to his wife's horror, he flashed across the nightly news. He never did figure out what on earth had happened the night he woke up in Chicago wearing a brand-new suit he'd never seen before. He still had the suit. In the end we had no trouble getting Charles to believe that his talent could bring him money.

Nathaniel Mayer - I Just Want To Be Held

I Just Want To Be Held is the first and highly anticipated full-length album from the Detroit soul legend Nathaniel Mayer. The album carries a “classic” Detroit soul sound and features a full band behind Mayer’s everlasting and razor sharp vocals. He still looks good and talks like Miles Davis.

So we're shoving this sampler out in the hopes that by the time it's in your hands, we'll all have a little more to celebrate. - Matthew Johnson
